BMW 3-Series E30 (1983-1991)

The BMW E30, introduced to the North American market in 1984, is much revered by BMW enthusiasts. Not only was the first BMW M3 an E30, the E30 325iX was the first all-wheel drive 3-Series BMW. The E30 was the first 3-Series BMW available as a coupe, a sedan, a convertible, and wagon. While initially featuring engines carried over from its E21 predecessor (the 4-cylinder M10 and 6-cylinder M20), the E30 BMW continually saw new and/or improved powerplants during its model run - topped off by the exquisite S14 4-cylinder engine that propelled the M3. BMW revised the E30 in 1988, with significant styling updates, as well as the introduction of the new M40 4-cylinder engine. The E30 was produced through 1993, and was replaced by the BMW E36.
