BMW Z8 E52 (2000-2003)

The BMW Z8 E52 is a front-engine rear-wheel drive roadster. The body was an ode to the iconic BMW 507 produced in 1956. The all-aluminum chassis was furnished with a 4.9 L V8 boasting 395 hp. The engine was mounted behind the front axle to evenly distribute weight and therefore increasing performance and stability.

Not to be outshined by its performance, BMW designed the Z8 for style as well. A hard-top shell complemented the sleek style. The neon lights provided for the head, tail, and turn signals were expected to last the life of the vehicle. The interior was redesigned to reduce clutter as functions were consolidated and the gauge cluster was moved to increase visibility during the driving experience. BMW anticipated the $128,000 car to become a collector model and in turn the company ensured enthusiasts that parts would be available for the next fifty years. The Z8 was also available with custom paint and interior options to entice buyers that were provided by BWM Individual, the bespoke arm of BMW.
