Mercedes-Benz SL-Class (2003-2012) R230

With its sleek roadster styling, elongated front engine hood, wide, athletic stance, and classic grand touring good looks, the R230 generation of the Mercedes-Benz SL Class is another handsome addition to the German auto maker's fleet. Over its nine-year run, the R230 generation of the Mercedes-Benz SL Class featured eight different engine types. These blocks were all robust, with the lowest-output engine still being a powerful 228 hp 3.0L V6. That V6 was joined by another 3.5L V6 putting out 268 hp. From there, the SL Class offered four V8 options, including a 510 hp supercharged 5.4L V8. Also, two V12 engines were placed in the vehicle, including a 6.0L Twin-Turbo V12 putting out 604 hp.
