Mercedes-Benz ML-Class (1998-2005) W163

The Mercedes-Benz W163 ML-Class is a mid-size luxury SUV that was produced from 1997-2005. An ideal body on frame design, it was the first luxury SUV to be equipped with electronic stability control. It was available in a 5 or 7 passenger configuration.

All M-Class vehicles were produced in The United States and were available with a 3.2L V6 with 215 hp or 4.3L V8 engine producing 232 hp. In 1999 the ML 55 AMG was introduced featuring a 5.4-litre V8 engine with 342 hp. It also included modified bodywork and other performance features.

For the 2000 model year, the ML-Class was updated with new headlights and taillights, front and rear fascia, and new wheel design. The ML 430 was replaced with a higher horsepower ML 500 variant, and in 2002 the ML 350 was replaced with the ML 350.
