Mercedes-Benz C-Class (1994-2000) W202

The Mercedes-Benz W202 C-Class is a compact executive car produced from 1993-2000 and was introduced to replace the Mercedes 190. This new C-Class was initially available with either a 148 hp 4-cylinder or 190 hp inline-6 engine options.

In 1995 a genuine performance model was offered, named the C 36 AMG to compete with the BMW M3. It was powered by a hand-built AMG 3.6L with 276 hp and 284 lb. ft of torque and could accelerate from 0-60 in just 5.8 seconds.

1998 brought a new flagship C-Class with the new C 43 AMG powered by a 4.3L V8 engine. Producing 306 hp and 302 lb. ft of torque, it was the first AMG model to be produced entirely at the Mercedes factory. It could rocket from 0-60 in 5.7 seconds and was the first C-Class to include a V8 engine.
