Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class (2006-2011) W219

Produced between 2004 and 2010, the Mercedes-Benz W219 (C219 in Europe and Germany) is the first generation of the CLS-Class range of four-door coupes featuring a fastback body style. The CLS-Class marked the first time globally that a four-door coupe-style was produced, and the style was soon followed by the VW CC model in 2008. Based on the W211 E-Class platform, the W219 is less practical with less legroom, headroom, and trunk space, and was priced above the E-Class, but below the S-Class in the Mercedes model range at the time. Over the course of its production run, four petrol engines were offered: the 3.0 - 3.5 L M272 V6; 5.0 - 5.4 L M113 V8; 5.5 L M273 V8; and 6.2 L M156 V8. In addition, one 3.0 L OM642 V6 turbodiesel engine was offered. Three special models were also built, including two AMG variations, along with a 2009 model year Grand Edition limited to 560 units.
